This can be a few things – over working the dough, rolling the cookie dough too tightly, or your oven is running hotter than others x

I don’t know what happened. I even let them a little bit more in the oven. Did the same with the Second batch but less time… no spread. Stayed in the same form]]> In reply to Rafael Baquero.

I follow the recipe but they didn’t spread😟 I used a spoon to make them a little bit more like the picture. I don’t know what happened. I even let them a little bit more in the oven. Did the same with the Second batch but less time… no spread. Stayed in the same form

Hey Jane,
I was just wondering if it’s possible to add a whole oreo in the middle please.
If so do I have to do anything different?

I was thinking of swapping the Oreos with Lucky Charms (both cereal and the marshmallow pieces) – do you think this would work?

It could be the oven is slightly too hot as they can vary, you rolled the cookie doughs too tightly, or the dough was overworked x

Hi Jane,

This recipe went down a treat! My only question is how you kept them mainly vanilla in the look.

Once I beat in the Oreo crumbs mine turned chocolate coloured. Is this because I used an electric mixer? Maybe over mixed I’m not sure.

Thanks 🙂

Hi Johanne,

In most places accross the world recipes grams are used for baking. They’re more accurate. ❤️

That should be fine! Chunks of oreo may cause a few leaks with the spread though x

Most likely because Jane is based in the UK, where we use grams as the standard measurement unit 🙂

Smarties turned out like other NYC but Oreo slightly flatter and spread. Stilll delicious just looked very different. Is this due to no cornflour in Oreo recipe? Why is it cornflour in some ie Smartie and not in others ie Oreo?
